Final project and paper
Okay. Due to poor communication on my part, The people in section 1 and I have come up with the following plan which will apply to both sections. This should greatly reduce the final workload for the course.
- There will be no final paper required. If you started a paper submit what you have by this Thursday for extra credit
- Presentation of the final project will be done in class this Thursday. This project must be a mashup or remix. It can be a remix/mashup of an existing project. For example, you can remix your existing video or remix the Garageband tune you composed. The final project must be significantly different than the previous version.

Grading
This Thursday I am going to spend a hunk of class time getting grades in order. I've had problems ranging from getting videos that don't have a person's name attached to just missing things as I read through the blogs.
collaborative remix
What I have for the remix grade is indicated on the TeamWork 3 column of the grading sheet. There should be a remix for each member of the class. For 4 people teams I give 30 points for each remix turned in, for 3 people teams I give 40 points. If you don't think I counted yours check on the collaborative remix page of our website.
soundtrack
This is indicated by Participation 5 of the grade sheet (a number somewhere between 20 and 30)
blogs
Check out the blog grades. If I missed a post or comment, see me in person so I can update your grade.

Add a sound track
We will be learning to use video editing software. Our first task it to create a video sound track to one of scenes available at http://ccmixter.org/rip. This is due next Tuesday.
Thursday - 9 October
Last week we played with FruityLoops, and Renoise. We can trace the roots of programs such as these to the Amiga Tracker scene of the 80s. I would like people to spend some time researching these early trackers. A good place to start would be the wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tracker. Using that article you should be able to search for and watch key tracker videos on youtube. During Thursday's class groups will have a chance to discuss their findings and make presentations to the class. If you have youtube videos that you like, please bring them to class.
